Frequently Asked
Questions…
Q:
What happens if somebody tries to “pop” a ScAir
Structure with a sharp object?
A:
ScAir Structures
are manufactured with different technology than a balloon or
rubber raft. The flow of air that inflates a ScAir Structures
is constant and they are designed to “breath” air at all times.
You can actually hear and feel air seeping out of the seams
throughout the entire unit. If someone were to puncture a ScAir
Structure , it would simply
“bleed” air out of that opening and the area around the puncture
would become soft and spongy. Holes can be patched temporarily
with duct or gaffers tape and then sealed permanently, using the
maintenance kits provided with your ScAir Structure .
Q:
What if there is a power failure?
A:
The ScAir Structure
will not collapse immediately in the event of a power failure. The
unit will become soft and will start to sink. You will have an
opportunity to escort your patrons out through the exits, then
re-establish power to the blowers.
Q:
How many blowers does it take to
inflate a ScAir Structure ?
A:
Only one for the ScAir Chambers and two
for the ScAir Haunts.
Q:
How much electricity do ScAir
Structures use?
A:
The inflation blowers require
approximately 11 amps while they are running. We suggest using a
dedicated 15 amp circuit for each blower.
Q:
What Safety Features are built into
ScAir Structures ?
A:
ScAir Structures
are built from flame resistant material. The entrances and aisles
are wheelchair accessible. There are four exits (one on each side)
and ventilation hatches built into the ceiling.
Q:
How is the ScAir Structure
assembled?
A:
The ScAir Haunt assembles in hours by
inflating the grids on top of the floor, then deflating it to
attach the roof. At this point the interior walls are attached and
the unit will be ready for your decorations. The ScAir Chambers
can be assembled in minutes. Simply roll out and unfold the unit,
attach the blower and inflate. That’s it!
Q:
What is it like inside a ScAir Structure ?
A:
The inside of a ScAir Haunt represents a
grid pattern of inflated columns 3’ apart. You can design hallways
with the provided walls or 5’ x 5’ rooms. The pattern you design
can change every year or every night. The ScAir Chambers do not
have any interior columns, except for the perimeter support
columns. These units don’t even have a center support column, so
you can utilize the interior any way you want.
Q:
How will my props, or some of my
pneumatic effects fit inside?
A:
The 5’x5’ footprint will accommodate
most props and pneumatic effects. There is also 10’ from the floor
to the bottom of the horizontal tubes and another two feet to the
ceiling. Pressure pads can also be placed underneath the floor
Q:
How do I hang lighting and sound
equipment?
A:
There are nylon straps sewn to the
bottom leading edge of all horizontal tubes, between every column.
These straps will allow you to attach; lighting, sound and props.
There are also “D” rings sewn into the vertical leading edges of
all of the columns.
Q:
How long does it take to go thru a
ScAir Structure ?
A:
It all depends on you. Most people are
surprised at how big ScAir Structures are inside. This is because
the space is used very efficiently. Your design can lead patrons
through in a hurry or keep them in for up to fifteen minutes.
Q:
Since ScAir Structures
are made of black material, does it get very hot inside?
A:
Although the black material does absorb
the heat, the air being released through the seams within the
structure help cool the unit down considerably. You can also open
all exits and ventilation hatches while working inside to increase
ventilation.
Q:
Is the material flame retardant?
A:
YES! We provide the M.S.D.S.’s and label
each unit with our certification.
Q:
Can I get a ScAir Structure
in a different color?
A:
Of Course. We can build your structure
in a variety of colors at no extra charge. We can also customize
door locations and other aspects of your ScAir Structure . |
